Symbiotic
Regeneration
a rift in the urban fabric as an opportunity to redefine the relationship between the organic and the artificial, old and new.
Location: Kiryat Elizer, Haifa.
Urban renewal studio: Lead by Arch. Omer Barr
The project approaches the site as part of an interconnected geographic system, aiming to redefine its boundaries in a way that fosters a deeper integration with its surroundings.
It incorporates the existing urban fabric as a foundation for renewal, viewing this transformation as a process that requires thoughtful programmatic updates. By creating inclusive systems that work in harmony with existing structures, the design establishes a symbiotic fabric, enhancing the relationship between the flatlands and the city’s topographical areas.
This approach strengthens the cohesion of the landscape, promoting a unified yet adaptable urban environment.
